How do I book?

What is the band line-up?

 

Funk Soul Sister is a 5-8 piece live band, however our standard line up is a 6-piece comprising of drums, bass, guitar (with backing vocals), keyboards, and two female vocalists. This is the line-up that can be heard on our demo recordings.

 

We also offer an additional saxophonist, and/or percussionist  for that extra wow factor.

 

How long do you play for?

 

We usually play 2x1hr sets, and find that this works best for both the audience and the band. However, we are happy to tailor the sets to your requirements. This should be arranged well in advance and will be incorporated into the terms of the contract when you receive it.

 

Can you supply music before/after your sets?

 

Yes, we have a band iPOD with over 3 hours of classic dancefloor hits specifically for this purpose. However, if you would like to use your own mp3 player through our PA system then you are most welcome.

 

Can we use your PA system for speeches or music?

 

Yes,, as long as it is after our soundcheck then the PA can be used for speeches/music.

 

We have hired a DJ. Can they run through the band PA system?

 

Most DJ’s will have their own PA and lights and charge accordingly. However, we are happy to let a DJ play through our PA ,but please be aware that if this is to continue beyond the “all finish time” as stated on the contract then it must be arranged well in advance and an extra charge will be incurred.

 

How long does it take for you to load in and soundcheck?

 

We usually allow 2 hours to load in, set up and soundcheck. We need a window of about 30-40 minutes at the end in which we will be making noise through the PA. We always try to be as unobtrusive and efficient as possible.

 

How far is the band willing to travel?

 

Funk Soul Sister performs throughout the UK and abroad. In fact, anywhere where you need an outstanding funky party band, we’ll be there.

 

What do you wear on stage?

 

The musicians dress in black shirts and trousers, with the two female vocalists up front wearing colourful outfits to stand out from the crowd.

 

Is the band we hear on the recordings the band we get?

 

Funk Soul Sister is a professional band that uses professional musicians. Wherever possible we use the same line-up, and the earlier you book the more likely it is that all the band members will be available. As with any band of this calibre, the musicians that we use are always in demand so we have a select pool of outstanding players and vocalists that we can call on when we need to.

 

How big does the stage/performance area need to be?

 

The minimum stage size required for the standard line up is 16’ wide x 12’ deep, with 2’6” clearance down each side to accommodate the PA speakers, lighting and mixing console. However, if the performance area has no stage or is an irregular shape/size then let us know and we will be as flexible as possible to find a solution.

 

Do you supply a written contract?

 

Yes. Once all the details have been agreed we incorporate them into our contract which is sent to you with our booking confirmation pack.

 

Do you require a deposit?

 

Yes. We require a 25% non-refundable deposit along with a signed copy of the contract to secure the booking in full.

 

Are you fully insured and PAT tested?

 

Yes. We have £5,000,000 Public Liability Insurance and all our equipment is PAT tested.
